“My opinion is that one of the roles of art
is to connect us to Nature again
and to remind us about the fact
that we humans are part of Nature.”
Ryuichi Sakamoto

Sounds and Video reacts to water touch
The Voice of Nature, and Water in particular,
have maintained their rhythm and balance for millennia.
Humanity attempts to dominate nature, abusing and violating its original flow.
have maintained their rhythm and balance for millennia.
Humanity attempts to dominate nature, abusing and violating its original flow.
The concept and mechanics of this installation are very simple.
Visitors to the exhibition enter a room and hear the Voice of Nature
(Shizen No Koe - an original composition by Ryuichi Sakamoto),
watch a video of flowing water and encounter a small pool of water that they can touch.
Touching the water alters the sound and, at the same time, the video,
demonstrating how our touch today alters the flow of Nature,
which has remained unchallenged for millennia.
"Water is a moment of suspension,
a suspension between ancestral dualisms
light and darkness, visible and invisible
in the flow of this eternal movement that is life."
Giuseppe La Spada

"Sublimis (which has already materialised in the form of an exhibition at Triennale di Milano) brings together photography, sculptures, videos, multimedia installations, feelings, emotions and science. A broad (light) spectrum observation that aims at shedding some light – at times even showing obstinacy and urgency – on the state of our planet and the way it seeks to communicate with us." vogue.it
